One of the Best Marvel Universe Storylines Ever (Rating 5 of 5)

At last! They have brought this fantastic storyline into one place. The problem with the Onslaught epic was that it was spread accross the entire Marvel Universe, so unless you spent hundreds of dollars buying every single Marvel comic every month for the duration, you only got a small jigsaw piece of what was going on with Onslaught.
I've got this first Onslaught Epic volume and it is as brilliant as I remember, only better, because it fills in lots of gaps of comics that I didn't buy at the time (like the Avengers and Fantastic Four).
I can't WAIT for the next instalment!
possibly the biggest crossover of the nineties (Rating 3 of 5)

Sadly biggest doesn't mean best. I really liked the lead up to this story, hints were dropped here and there leaving the reader desperate to know just who or what onslaught was. dangling carrots seems to be scott lobdells writing style of choice, sadly he rarely finishes so well as he begins.
Being a crossover it has the usual flaws, changing writers and artists often leave them feeling a bit schizo, not unexpected though.
Sure the story was huge and did affect every comic in the marvel universe, however making every comic have an onslaught related issue or two was overly ambitious. Some chapters seem pointless and forced, others too rushed. still it is well worth a look.
