Interesting characters, good plotline, confused point of view (Rating 3 of 5)

This isn't my usual reading material, but I won a signed copy in a raffle, so I thought I'd give it a go. And it was an enjoyable read. It wasn't until I read the other reviews here that I realised it was a sequel. I don't feel that my enjoyment of it was reduced because I hadn't read the previous instalment, which I think is a good sign. Sequels that work well as stand alone novels should be applauded.
I was though confused on several occasions by the viewpoint that this was written from. The chapters from Lucy Lombard's point of view are written in the first person, whereas the others written from either Autumn's, Chantal's or Nadia's point of view are written in the third person. This is fine, but some of the sections written from Lucy's first person viewpoint, just didn't work in my opinion.
For example, on page 300, Matthews writes:
"As I leave, I don't see my good friend bend down and pick up my little silk bag that I dropped in the struggle with Mr Smith."
Well, if the character doesn't see it, then how can she describe it to the reader?
Yes this is nitpicking, but it happens in other places too in the novel and it did spoil my enjoyment of it.
Scrumptious! (Rating 5 of 5)

After having read the first Chocolate Lovers book at first I didn't realise this was a sequel until I read the blurb on the back of the book! I thought it genuinely was a diet book that had been brought out on the strength of the other book! I thought I would need it as reading the previous book made my mouth water and think of chocolate constantly! However,as with the first book, this did not disappoint. Carole Matthews' characters were as funny and as lovable as before. I can wholeheartedly recommend all of Carole's books, they are like therapy to me!

As with The Chocolate Lovers Club, I could not put this book down. Carole Matthews has completely exceeded herself with these 2 books. I thought they were both fantastic. They are full of comedy, romance and were tearjerking in places. Can't wait for her next book.
great sequel (Rating 5 of 5)

I could not put this book down. I very much enjoyed "The Chocolate Lovers' Club" but I liked this one even better.
I was even reading walking up to the bus stop. It's got all the ingredients of proper chick lit but it is also very heart felt.
I can't believe Lucy gave Marcus another go. What was she thinking?
And all that is going on with Chantal, Autumn and Nadia. You just wanna read on to see what happends. Lucy's paintball outing with the company and the drug drop that they all did for Autumn's brother Richard had me laugh out loud.
You don't need to have read the first one to appreciate this sequel.
A fabulous book.
A must for chocolate lovers (Rating 5 of 5)

The club are back - Nadia is still not sure whether her husband Toby has kicked his online gambling habit; Chantel could be pregnant, but who's the father? Lucy is puzzled about the lack of communication from Crush in Australia, and the omnipresent Marcus, her ex; Autumn is still worried about her drug addict brother, and his effect on her new relationship with Addison. There are problems to be solved and challenges to be faced all with the help of friendship and chocolate. This is a feel good book, which has its serious side. The wedding scene is laugh out loud funny and would hardly be out of place in an Ealing comedy. I loved it.
