Ok, so I did pass Strategy Level first time - not sure it was due to this book though!
Although it did give some useful help on planning and gaining marks for discursive questions it had no help for the technical questions.
It did help me feel more confident though - and that's always good!
Clear, concise and helpful! (Rating 5 of 5)

I bought this book as I failed my last two papers and I wanted a new strategy for passing them the next time around.
The book is easy to read, not overloaded with information and gives clear guidance as to what strategies to apply to get through the exams.
At the end of the chapter there is a helpful "mindmap" summary of what was covered and Appendices at the back at the book to refer to. The book is illustrated with clever cartoons.
I will be sitting the exams in November again, using what I've learnt from this book - and I feel a lot more confident adapting the approaches illustrated in this book.
I highly recommend it - especially if your not sure of where to start or if you want to improve on your revision strategy.
RESULTS OF NOV 07 EXAMS!
I passed both of my CIMA papers, I think the book has helped to play a major part in achieving my passes.
Excellent book! (Rating 4 of 5)

I agree with the first review, I found this book really useful. The mindmaps are particularly helpful for both revision and answer planning.
The book is very easy to read and has given me more direction. I plan to pass the exam next month and feel that the book will help me achieve this.
I also emailed the author for some extra revision guidance and he promptly replied with advice the next day.
The reason I have given the book a 4 and not a 5 is that I'll wait for my exam result and if I pass I'll upgrade it to a 5! :-)
Really Awful Book (Rating 1 of 5)

This book is aimed for people with little or no experience of trying to pass an exam. If you are preparing to take CIMA, you would almost certainly have taken enough exams to not require this information. Mostly a waste of time and money. The appendices have a little bit of useful information. Overall 0/10.
Should be very useful to all students (Rating 5 of 5)

"Pass First Time" is the name of this book and, with any luck, it will do 'exactly what it says on the cover'. It's easy to read, and the illustrations and mind maps stop it being too heavy. I think it would help loads of students, not just those studying CIMA. You could get a lot of value from reading this book if you are doing A-levels, a degree, an MBA or a professional qualification other than CIMA. The author has obviously been doing this for a long time and seems to really know what he's talking about, but an examiner should, shouldn't he?
