Extremely useful for a Medical Secretary (Rating 4 of 5)
» Mrs. A. J. Shingler
This dictionary is very useful. As a "new" medical secretary, it was rarely out of my hands! It gives just a teeny bit of background to the words you're using and provided me with some insight into the conditions I was typing letters about.
I'd say it was a clear and practical guide. I'm sure there are probably more detailed and more "picturesque" medical dictionaries about, but for me it was excellent value and I wouldn't change jobs without it!
just enough depth (Rating 4 of 5)

This dictionary provides an understandable and informative description of over eleven thousand entries. In contrast to other dictionaries the editor really managed to avoid the tendency to give too much or too detailed information. It offers interesting facts with just enough depth and, although concise, it only very rarely happened to me to not find the entry I was looking for. Really worth purchasing when starting medical studies although later on other resources will become necessary
Great dictionary, very useful for dental students too (Rating 5 of 5)

This dictionary has been an invaluable source of information throughout my time as a dental student. It explains medical and dental terms with clarity and enough depth if you just want a basic idea of what a particular term means. It hasn't let me down so far! :)
It does what it says on the tin! (Rating 4 of 5)

This is a very plain book with only a handful of diagrams, it is jsut a dictionary. I find it very useful as a massage therapist to look up what clients are telling me to help me to choose an appropraite course of massge for them. If you want something with loads of pretty diagrams this is not the one for you: if you just want the definition of a medical term and a brif explanation, then this book is very good
Great source of reference (Rating 5 of 5)

As a medical secretary I find this book easy to use and very useful. There aren't many occasions when the word I am looking for is not in here. Good explanations, so good infact that the other secretaries often borrow it!
